# Payments.ai MoR

```bash
npx skills add paymentsai/Payments-AI-skills
claude mcp add --transport http payments-ai https://mor.payments.ai/api/mcp
openclaw skills install https://www.payments.ai/skill.md
```

Fetch this file: https://www.payments.ai/skill.md
Current install is OAuth. Do not ask the human to copy an API key.

Works with Claude Cowork, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenClaw, Devin Desktop, Lovable, and v0. No ClawHub slug yet; OpenClaw installs from the URL above. Cursor JSON if you are not using the CLI:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "payments-ai": {
      "url": "https://mor.payments.ai/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Target, not current: the agent creates the merchant with no dashboard login and no copied key. Today the human still signs in once in a browser (OAuth), then the agent creates the merchant.

## 1. Connect MCP

Point the host at `https://mor.payments.ai/api/mcp`. First tool call prints or opens an authorization link: Claude Code prints a URL, Cowork opens a tab. The human signs in on the Payments.ai dashboard and grants scopes. Docs: https://doc.mor.payments.ai/mcp and https://doc.mor.payments.ai/auth.md

Bearer fallback only if the host cannot do OAuth: mint a User MCP Key at https://mor.payments.ai/developer-tools (`pai_mcp_*`). Put it in local MCP config. Never paste it into chat.

## 2. Find or create the merchant

Call `get_my_merchant`. If it returns a merchant, reuse that `merchantId`. Creating a second merchant splits products and checkout links.

If the list is empty, ask for business name, email, and optional E.164 phone (example: `+14155552671`). Call `create_merchant_account`. If it fails, call `get_my_merchant` and reuse the merchant it returns.

## 3. Create a sandbox product and checkout

Ask what they sell in plain English. Call `create_product` with `merchantId` and at least one plan (`amount` as a decimal dollar, e.g. `29.00`, not cents). Product and checkout mutations target sandbox until `go_live`.

Use the checkout URLs the tool returns. Do not construct them. Sandbox links include `?isSandbox=true`. A working sandbox checkout takes minutes.

## 4. Idempotency

Send an idempotency key with `create_order`. `create_merchant_account` and `create_product` take none and dedupe server-side. Do not retry them after success; prefer `get_my_merchant` and `list_products`.

## 5. Live charges, KYC, withdrawal

`go_live` is irreversible. Confirm with the human first. It promotes the sandbox merchant to live and notifies KYC on the live backend.

Identity verification is required before withdrawal. Do not claim KYC gates collection unless a tool response says the charge was blocked.

## 6. What to tell the human

- You're not the merchant of record. Tax, VAT, and sales-tax registration, filing, and remittance aren't yours.
- Sales tax and VAT are collected at checkout and remitted across the US, EU, and UK.
- The merchant of record files chargeback responses with the card networks. Dispute fees and chargeback amounts can still be debited from the balance.
- Free to build. You pay 2.7% + $0.30 when you take a payment. That is processing only. Tax handling, BNPL, and payouts are priced separately. No setup fee, no monthly minimum, no PCI fee.
- This skill is Payments.ai MoR. On Payments.ai Platforms the customer stays the merchant of record. Do not mix the two.

## 7. Do not claim

- That Payments.ai is the legal merchant-of-record entity, that "we" appear on the bank statement, or that "we absorb 100% liability"
- Tax filed in 190+ countries
- A copied API key as the default install
- Live payouts without identity verification
